Three persons, including a student and a former police officer, were arrested on traffic of influence charges. The three are suspected of asking for €20,000 from the relative of a man who was investigated for trafficking in heroine for helping this avoid trial, IPN reports.
According to the National Anticorruption Center, the suspects made the denouncer believe that they have friendly relations with influential persons from the legal system and can solve the problem. In reality, they applied a classical swindling scheme and managed to get the money.
A criminal case was started over traffic of influence, but the charges could be modified into swindle. The three were arrested for 72 hours and are in the custody of the National Anticorruption Center.
