The high winds of March 23 and 24 have downed 33 trees in the capital city. There were damaged a number of electric power lines and two trucks on which a tree fell on Muncesti St, IPN reports.
According to the director of SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” Constantin Becciev, 14 cases of disconnection from the power supply happened last weekend at drinking water pumping stations. But the workers managed to ensure the uninterrupted supply of water.
”At the pumping station in Vadul lui Voda, the light was off for an hour, while at the station in Tohatin for 10 hours,” Becciev said in the March 25 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials. He also said that the pumping station situated on Valea Dicescu St remained without power after a tree tore up a number of cables.
According to weather forecasters, the wind last weekend intensified to up to 20 m/s.
