Strong wind leaves several localities without electricity

About 40 localities of the central and northern Moldova remained without electric power as a result of the wind storm on Saturday. Lieutenant colonel of the Exceptional Situations Department, Ion Turcanu told Info-Prim Neo that the strong wind occurred in the central and northern localities between 17:10 and 21:25 left without electric power several localities. Thus, the wind, the trees and fallen branches broke the electric network in 3 localities of Glodeni raion, 7 of Ungheni, 4 of Calarasi, 2 of Donduseni, 6 of Sangerei, 1 of Rezina, 4 of Drochia, 9 of Nisporeni. At the same time, 130 roof slates of the kindergarten located in Floritoaia village, Ungheni district and also 12 house roofs and the roofs of 2 storehouses were damaged. Ion Turcanu says that 10 fires which did not produce great material losses were registered in the last 24 hours. Sources from the Municipal Dispatch told Info-Prim Neo that the storm left without power several houses in Chisinau. The apartment blocks were reconnected in short-time to the power supply network, other houses did not have electric power until Sunday morning because the networks could not be fixed during the night. At the same time, the wind uprooted two trees on Drumul Villor Street, 11 and Kiev Street 4. No significant material damages were registered.
