“Forgive them God as they don’t know what they do!” the leader of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet said, commenting on the Communists’ call to Nicolae Timofti to withdraw from the presidential race, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I don’t know if it’s worth taking stock of the events that happened since August 28, 2009 until present. Despite the political impediments, our country went on. Today the Communists showed again that they want to cause early legislative elections in the hope that they will change the situation in the country. They started to call to disobedience from the Parliament’s rostrum,” Valeriu Strelet said in the special sitting of the legislature. The Liberal-Democratic MP also said that after blockages and boycotts, the lawmakers now can bring the political crisis to an end. “We think about the people’s interests. Dear colleagues, we have the duty and real possibility of bringing optimism and hope to the people and confidence in tomorrow. The years to come will be years of multilateral development,” stated Valeriu Strelet. He stressed that the people’s interests oblige the MPs to detach themselves from criticism and mobilize themselves so as to ensure the election of a head of state who will not disappoint the people.
