More than 5,000 persons asked for assistance at the medical units set up on streets in Chisinau throughout last week. Most of them included persons suffering from hypertension. The information was presented in the July 18 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, Info-Prim Neo reports.
There are 14 street medical units working in all the districts of Chisinau. Health Division head Luminita Suveica said there were recorded eight cases of sunstroke. Three children affected by sunstroke were hospitalized. Over 60 persons resting on the beach in Vadul lui Voda town last weekend sought help from the ambulance doctors on guard in that area.
Eliferii Haruta, head of the Chisinau Green Areas Association that manages the rivers and ponds, said 24 persons were rescued from drowning in Vadul lui Voda last week. The garbage left behind by the residents of Chisinau in recreational areas is a serious problem. “As many as 16 tonnes of waste have been collected on the beach in Vadul lui Voda during only two days,” said Eliferii Haruta.
Seven persons were fined last week for breaking the hygienic norms when selling products.
