Strategic Committee and Public Investigation Group created in Chisinau

A Sustainable Development Strategic Committee will be created in Chisinau, as well as a Public Investigation Group within the latter one. The decision draft in this sense was discussed at the mayoralty’s special meeting, at which the Capital’s administration, municipal counselors and representatives of designing institutions took part. According to the draft, it aims to ensure the information and consultation process of the General Urban Plan (PUG) of Chisinau municipality, as well as coordinate the formation and strategic development activities of the municipality. The new structure also will coordinate the activities between the services of mayoralty, civil society, business environment and other structures, in the context of collecting data, proposals, and synthesis necessary for designing PUG sections. The committee also has as task informing and consulting the population while designing and adopting PUG. The committee is composed of municipal counselors, the Capital’s mayor and deputy mayors, chairmen of permanent commissions of Municipal Council, counselors and mayors of suburbs of municipality, representatives of non-governmental sector, business and academic environment. The committee will work on public basis. Chisinau’s mayoralty engaged to draft PUG till the end of this year.
