Strasbourg Court to consider case of Dacia Hotel from Chisinau

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) will hear the case Dacia Hotel versus Moldova on March 18, Info-Prim Neo reports. The plaintiff is the company owning Dacia hotel. In 1997 the Moldovan Parliament passed a privatization bill concerning the hotel Dacia, then belonging to the state. The document provided to auction the entity. Yet later the privatization decision on the hotel was annulled. The Dacia Hotel case has been set for hearing, as the plaintiff claims art. 1 of Protocol 1 of the ECHR (protection of property) was violated, as well as the right to a fair hearing, under art.1 paragraph 6 of the Convention. Up to present the Moldovan Government has been found guilty in at least 110 cases by the Strasbourg Court, having to pay losses of about 4.5M euros (73.5M lei.)
