The idea to sterilize Chisinau's stray dogs is still at its project stage. The responsible services have not yet established a joint work program, although they were to define their intentions last week, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the chief of the Veterinary Service, Radu Mudreac, a project of tasks was prepared for Friday, September 12, and it was presented to the secretaries of the deputy mayors Vladimir Cotet and Igor Lupulciuc. “Now the other sides are to present their plans and to reach a joint understanding,” Radu Mudreac told the Monday's sitting of the City Hall. Mudreac has told Info-Prim Neo they discussed with private clinics. They can operate on the males against 200 lei and sterilize the females against 300 lei. The equipment necessary to catch the vagrant dogs is said to be ready on Tuesday. The Chisinau Municipal Council is to tackle the issue on Tuesday and see how it can finance the project. According to mayor Dorin Chirtoaca 2,000 dogs are to get sterilized in a first stage, as some half a million lei are needed.
