Stephane Christophe Bride introduced to team of Economy Ministry

Stephane Christophe Bride said that as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, he will concentrate his attention on the implementation of the government program, which is an ambitious one. The new minister was presented to the Ministry’s team on February 19, IPN has learned from the institution’s press service.

“As I come from the private sector and know the expectations of the entrepreneurs, I will focus mainly on the implementation and completion of the initiated reforms, aimed at improving the business climate and at stimulating foreign direct investment in the national economy,” stated Stephane Christophe Bride.

Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici said the efforts should be united in a move to cope with the economic challenges and continue the started reforms. “We already have a plan of action for a short and medium term and thus need your involvement to implement it successfully. The minister of economy bears enormous responsibility and plays an important role in this respect,” he stated.

Stephane Christophe Bride earlier worked as manager at Grant Thornton SRL Moldova and Romania. He has over 20 years’ experience in accounting, auditing, management consultancy and taxing. He held a series of posts, including director at “EY Moldova” in 2006 – 2010, France’s foreign trade adviser in Moldova in 2012, and vice president of the Administration Board of the France – Moldova Chamber of Trade and Industry in 2013-2014. Over the last six years, he managed projects at banks and insurance companies in Moldova. During his career, he worked for companies in France, Cameron, the Ivory Coast, Jordan, Romania and other countries.

Stephane Christophe Bride, 44, speaks Romanian, French, Spanish, and English. He is married and has a child. The new minister was sworn in on February 18, together with the other members of the Gaburici Government.
