Ștefan Vodă District Hospital in quarantine

The Ștefan Vodă District Hospital was placed in quarantine after a number of doctors there tested positive for COVID-19. The patients with COVID-19 from this hospital are being brought to Chisinau. Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu, after the meeting of the National Focal Point, said that 57 infections with the novel coronavirus were confirmed in Ștefan-Vodă district, IPN reports.

The minister also referred to the Soroca District Hospital, where a number of doctors also tested positive for COVID-19. According to Vioricăi Dumbrăveanu, as the given hospital was outfitted appropriately and has the necessary human resources, it will continue working, but will be constantly monitored by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.

In another development, the minister said that seven specialists from the left side of the Nistru on April 2 were trained to operationalize a local lab. They were taught on the platform of the National Public Health Agency. Also, specialists of the Agency were delegated to strengthen the professional capacities of the lab in Bălți, which will also be provided, in a centralized way, with test kits for testing persons from the northern districts.

Of the 505 infections with COVID-19 recorded in Moldova, 80 were imported, while 425 people got infected locally. As many as 62 infected persons are in critical condition, while 221 are in a medium grave state. Two patients were discharged on April 2 and the number of persons who recovered rose to 26.
