Steaua Bucharest expected in Chisinau

Dacia Chisinau will play Steaua Bucharest in one of the most anticipated friendly matches of the winter. According to Dacia’s official website, the game will be played March 26, on Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau. Domestic competitions will be paused due to Euro 2012 qualifiers. Four years ago, Steaua were close to playing a friendly match against Moldova’s senior team. However, the Romanian team withdrew from the fixture because the Moldovan Football Federation had changed the venue to Tiraspol, on its synthetic pitch. This winter, in Antalya, Dacia played other household names such as Spartak and Dynamo Moscow or Rapid Wien. Last time Steaua came to Moldova was in the fall of 2009. The Bucharest-based club drew with Sheriff Tiraspol 1-1 in the Europa League groups. Steaua have an official fan-club in Chisinau.
