Stati and his aide to remain in custody at least until mid-July

Businessman Gabriel Stati and Aurel Marinescu, the head of Stati Holding's security agency, will remain under arrest at least until the middle of July, after the court rejected on Thursday the defence's plea for a house arrest, extending the term of the arrest for another 30 days, Info-Prim Neo learned from Stati's lawyer Vladislav Gribincea. Gabriel Stati and Aurel Marinescu were arrested on April 8 on charges of attempting to usurp the power and organizing mass disorders. Both plead not guilty.
