Differing opinions were formulated on the Parliament’s statement by which Russia’s information attacks on the national information security and its abusive interference in the political activity are condemned in the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel. Democrats said this is a response to Russia’s actions, while Socialists said this statement will yet create problems, IPN reports.

Socialist MP Bogdan Tirdea said the statement adopted by Parliament forms part of a logical series, together with the adoption of the anti-propaganda law and the opening of the NATO office in Chisinau. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization first in 2015 announced that an information war against Russia was needed and a series of anti-Russia measures were taken in this connection in Moldova.

The MP noted that owing to such actions by the government, like the signing of the statement, problems will be created in settling the Transnistrian conflict.

Democratic MP Cornel Dudnic said that despite the statements adopted by Moldova, the authorities are not interested in worsening the relations with the Russian Federation. “We understand very well our reciprocal and unilateral interests and should take these things into account. At the same time, Moldova is an independent state with the own status in the international community and should be taken into account even if it is a small country,” he stated.

The MP said it is the Russian Federation that a year and a half or two years ago transmitted signals of alert by stopping Moldovan high-ranking officials and diplomats at the border and not allowing them to enter.
