State will pay health insurance of mothers with four and more children

The state will pay the health insurance of the unemployed mothers with four and more children aged under 18 as from January 1, 2008. At Wednesday’s meeting, the Government approved a bill to modify the laws on obligatory health insurance and on the size, ways and terms of paying the obligatory health insurance premiums. Minister of Health Ion Ababii said that the amendments aim to provide additional social support to the mothers with many children and to diminish the risks to the population’s health by guaranteeing access to medical services. He said that the provisions will be implemented at a cost of about 8.7 million lei yearly. At the same time, Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev instructed the officials in charge to consider the opportunities and possibilities of providing free medial insurance to the mothers with three and more children that do not work. The state pays the health insurance of the mothers with seven children and more and of the persons that look after an invalid child of first invalidity degree as of January 1, 2007.//REPORTER.MD
