State University of Medicine and Pharmacy opens doors to future students

Lyceum and college graduates, twelfth graders and their parents could study the educational offer of “Nicolae Testemițanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the admission conditions during the Open Doors Day on May 21. They could also visit the University Dental Clinic, IPN reports.

In the ceremony to inaugurate the event, the University’s rector Emil Ceban told the young people who want to study at their institution that medicine is a profession needed both in times of peace and in times of war, or of pandemic. “During the 76 years of work, we have built a high-quality higher education medical school. Our University trained over 46,000 doctors, druggists and dentists. We have a diaspora of doctors all over the world. We are a modern university. The development strategy for the next ten years is based on such key elements as internationalization, research and digitization,” stated Emil Ceban, noting that being a doctor is a very important choice and those who will choose their institution will have to learn assiduously.



Faculty of Dentistry graduate Vlada Zagrubnaia came to thank her former teachers for the knowledge she accumulate at the University and to share her experience. She has worked as a children’s dentist in Ialoveni town for three years. “At the beginning, it was hard, but in the fifth year of study I already considered myself a doctor and started to work. Initially, I didn’t intend to work with children, but now I daily treat by six children,” she stated.



Nicoleta Ciocîrlan from Drochia town, who graduates from the local Theoretical Lyceum “Bogdan Petriceicu-Hasdeu”, said that admission to the Faculty of Dentistry for her is a dream that she hopes will come true after she takes the Baccalaureate exams. She said she learned about the Open Doors Day at the University from representatives of the Faculty who came to their lyceum on a visit. “I always admired the dentists and was never afraid of them. At the moment, I aim to obtain good grades at the Baccalaureate exams so as to be admitted to medicine. My parents support me and daily tell me that I made a good choice,” she related.
