The Transnistrian state university “Taras Shevchenko” formulated its own anti-crisis measures that have been implemented during over three months. The measures include a 60% discount on the tuition fees, Info-Prim Neo's correspondent in Tiraspol reports.
According to Natalia Kunichenko, first pro-rector of the university, a part of the students studying under contract cannot pay the fees. The measure to reduce the fees is designed to support this category of students.
She stressed that the concessions apply to the students whose parents have been registered with the labor exchange for at least three months or are invalids and to the students who have only one parent.
The university's rector Stepan Beril said the measures will help support the students and will contribute to the stable functioning of the university and the whole education system.
More than 100 students have been transferred from contract-based studies to budget-funded studies this year. Over 200 students received financial assistance. The students are also allowed to pay the tuition fees in installments.
