State to purchase 10,000 tonnes of wheat from producers

The Government’s Agency for Material Reserves has announced a public tender contest to buy 10,000 tonnes of food wheat of the 2011 harvest for the state reserves. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumakov said that over 20 million lei was allocated from the budget for the purpose. “The real costs will be determined when we see the purchase price,” stated the minister. The producers can submit bids by February 29, 10.30, to the Agency for Material Reserves situated at 118/1 Columna St, office 25. Additional information can be obtained on 24-33-66, and 24-33-78. The tender contest will take place on February 29, at 11.00. In a working meeting of the Cabinet, Vasile Bumakov said that about 30% of the autumn crops can be affected by frost. “The crops did not develop well because there was drought and they may be affected by the cold. 30% is rather a high percentage, but it is not known for sure that these crops will be lost,” he stated, adding that if the autumn crops do not resist, there will be sowed more spring crops or corn.
