On the occasion of the State Flag Day, the National Library is hosting a thematic exhibition entitled “Let’s raise the tricolor up!”, which centers on the state symbols of Moldova. There are exhibited about 50 documents from the library’s collections, including the encyclopedic edition “National Symbols of the Republic of Moldova” by Silviu Andrieș-Tabac, IPN reports.

The exhibition also includes an essential book for those interested in identity symbols and the administrative and cultural processes in the Republic of Moldova, signed by Silviu Andrieș-Tabac. It provides a comprehensive and detailed perspective on the diversity and complexity of district symbols in the country. There are presented the works “Heraldic Symbolism of Moldova”, by Gheorghe Vrabie, “History of the Republic of Moldova”, by Valeriu Dulgheru. These and other documents can be discovered until May 23 by visiting the exhibition mounted in the central block of the National Library.

The library noted that the state flag is a major official symbol of sovereignty and independence, of the past, present and future of the Republic of Moldova. It reflects the democratic principles, the historical tradition of the people, equality of rights, friendship and solidarity of the people of the Republic of Moldova.

On April 23, 2010, the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova proclaimed April 27 the State Flag Day.
