The Material Reserves Agency is to procure 440 tonnes of wheat and announced a public tender contest for the purpose of fulfilling its public procurement plan for 2021.
In a response to an inquiry made by IPN, the Agency said the announcement concerning participation in the public tender contest for the purchase of the 440 tonnes of wheat was published on Novembers 22. No bid was submitted and the contracting authority reran the procurement procedure on Novembers 24.
As the year is coming to an end, the procurement of 440 tonnes of wheat is the only purchase that is to be made this year, the Material Reserves Agency said in its response.
As to the information about the quantity of wheat stored for the state reserves, the Agency said such data is classed as state secret.
The Material Reserves Agency is subordinate to the Ministry of the Interior. It is responsible for the implementation of the state policy on state material reserves and mobilization. Among its duties are to accumulate, replenish and replace the state reserves.
