The total number of electors put on the State Register of Voters was of 3 282 783 on May 4, 2021. Of these, 2 787 752 persons with the right to vote belong to territorial-administrative units of the second level, IPN reports, quoting the Central Election Commission (CEC).
According to the CEC, the difference compromises the persons who have the nationality of the Republic of Moldova, but do not have registration at the domicile or residence, including those who emigrated legally and those who have the domicile registered in the territorial-administrative units situated on the left side of the Nistru, which are temporarily outside the sovereign control of the constitutional authorities of the Republic of Moldova.
The Commission reminds the citizens with the right to vote who are abroad or have the domicile on the left side of the Nistru and who intend to vote in the snap parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021 that they can pre-register.
The registrations made for the previous national elections remain valid, except for cases when the voters intend to cast their ballots in another settlement outside the country, where polling stations will be established. In such cases, the voters can make changes in the data presented earlier.
The voters are invited to fill out the online registration form in the section “Pre-Registration” on www.alegator.md and to follow the instructions concerning the compiling of the online form. The registration can be also made on paper, by submitting an application signed individually or collectively to the CEC or Moldova’s embassies and consular offices.
