The National Extraordinary Public Health Commission decided to extend the state of public health emergency in Moldova until March 15. As from January 17, the persons will be allowed to enter Moldova only if they have a vaccination certificate, a negative COVID-19 test result or proof of recovery after contracting the virus during the past six months, no matter what country they come from, IPN reports.

Given that the Omicron variant is highly contagious, additional protection measures were taken. Starting with January 17, public eating places in localities on orange alert, like the municipality of Chisinau, will admit clients to fill only 75% of their capacity on the presentation of a COVID-19 certificate.

In the localities on green, yellow or orange alert, such private events as festivities, corporate events, wedding parties and Christening ceremonies will be allowed only if the participants have a COVID-19 certificate. The private events in settlements put on red alert are banned.
