Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca on a social networking site wrote that the state of emergency was extended to the whole Chisinau municipality. In the course of last night, another almost 500 trees and 20 poles collapsed. About 60 power lines were broken and there were reported 300 disconnections from the power supply. Trolleybus lines were damaged. Owing to the thick layer of snow, the emergency teams didn’t manage to remove snow from streets last night, IPN reports.
According to the mayor, the fallen trees and thick layer of snow disrupted public transport. Six trolleybuses were put on routes, but these got stuck soon.
The mayor assures that immediately after the snowfall stops, the consequences of the natural disaster will be gradually dealt with and the public transport will resume work.
