The State Chancellery will implement phase II of the project “Consolidating Moldova’s Migration and Development Institutional Framework”. The Government in its July 10 meeting approved the signing of amendment No. 1 to the Memorandum of Understanding between the State Chancellery of the Republic of Moldova and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation concerning the program “Realizing the migration potential in the Republic of Moldova”, IPN reports, quoting the executive’s press service.

The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation transferred the management of the project, including the financial part, to the beneficiary institution – the State Chancellery – so that this is now the implementation unit.

“This project will help implement the national strategy “Diaspora-2025”, involve Moldovan migrants in the development of native places trough the transfer of knowledge gained abroad and also create services for migrants and their families,” reads the press release.

The project “Consolidating Moldova’s Migration and Development Institutional Framework” is implemented in two consecutive phases with a length of 24 months (August 2015 – July 2017) and, respectively, 17 months (August 2017 – December 2018). The budget of phase II will total 212 585 Swiss francs.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the State Chancellery and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation was signed on May 17, 2016.
