Moldova's Acting President Mihai Ghimpu issued a decree to confer state awards on a group of journalists, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting an official press release.
The Order of the Republic was awarded to Petru Bogatu, editorialist of Jurnal de Chisinau, Lorena Bogza, host of the program In PROfunzime on PRO TV Chisinau channel, Vasile Botnaru, director of the Chisinau Local Office of Radio Free Europa, Valeriu Butnaru, president of Jurnal Trust Media, Dumitru Chubashenko, editor-in-chief of Panorama newspaper, Corina Fusu, chairwomen of the parliamentary commission for culture, eduction, research, youth, sport and mass media, Anatolie Golea, director general of Analitic Media Grup – TV7, Aneta Grosu, editor-in-chief of the independent investigations weekly “Ziarul de Garda”, Valeriu Saharneanu, head of the Journalists Union of Moldova, Constantin Tanase, director of the national independent daily Timpul, Valentina Ursu, reporter of the Chisinau Local Office of Radio Free Europa, Elena Zamura, editor-in-chief of Moldova Noastra Alliance newspaper.
Nicolae Dabija, editor-in-chief of of the weekly Literatura si Arta will receive the Order of Honor.
The awards were conferred in gratitude for their contribution to the national revival, promotion of democracy and general human values.
