Starting on August 1, Israel is changing entry rules for citizens of countries with which it has visa-free agreements, including Moldova. This means entering Israel will not be possible without prior authorization through its ETA-IL system, the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

Israel is implementing the ETA-IL system for prior verification and pre-approval of foreign citizens’ entry to, and stay in Israel. From July 1, for one month, the system will work in pilot mode, and from August 1, it will work as an institutional system for prior verification of foreign citizens who wish to visit Israel for various purposes.

Foreign citizens who will apply through this system in July, the system’s pilot period, will receive authorization that will remain valid for two years.

During the pilot period (July 1-August 1), applying for entry into Israel will be free, and starting on August 1, the procedure will cost 25 shekels, or about 120 Moldovan lei.
