The stamp of the Tiraspol Theoretical Lyceum “Lucian Blaga” was given back and a mechanism was agreed for returning the 114,000 lei confiscated on February 5. The decision was taken in an ordinary meeting of the working group on education held in Tiraspol, in the presence of representatives of the international partners involved in the 5+2 talks.
According to the Ministry of Education, the money will be deposited in the lyceum’s account in one of the Tiraspol banks and will be used to cover the costs associated with the education process.
The lyceum’s vice director Raisa Padureanu has told IPN that the stamp is at the Ministry of Education and will be transmitted to the school the coming days. The Transnistrian side refused to discuss the return of the vehicle and the personal belongings of the director and accountant, including mobile phones and keys, arguing they are not empowered to do this.
The next meeting of the working group will take place in Chisinau in the near future.
In the Transnistrian region there are eight Moldovan-administered, Latin-scrip schools.
