While some drivers never find a parking lot in the yards of their apartment buildings, others solve the problem by installing metallic obstacles or fences to mark out a personal parking lot. However, municipal housing and public amenities division head Petru Gontea has told Info-Prim Neo such actions are forbidden and should be punished. According to Gontea, no regulation allows drivers to demarcate personal parking lots, which are common and should be available for all tenants who own a vehicle. “Last summer, we started a series of measures to allow parking in block yards, but some drivers abuse it. We agreed that if we extend the asphalt surface, we must leave some grass parcels for people to have something to breathe with. Unfortunately, not everyone respects these rules”, said Petru Gontea. If car owners install various obstacles that limit other drivers’ access, then district head's offices must be notified in order to remove them. The culprit drivers could be fined with 600-700 lei.
