The deputy head of the Party “Dignity and Troth Platform” (PPPDA) Alexandru Slusari called on President Maia Sandu to include the subject of Moldova’s property in Ukraine in the next meeting of the Supreme Security Council (SSC). The MP noted the situation regarding the management of Moldova’s public property in the neighboring country, especially when the Government has limited powers and cannot make reshuffles, is more than serious, IPN reports.

Alexandru Slusari mentioned a number of situations that, according to him, are problematic. He said the assets of two enterprises – the quarries in Pervomaisc and Cernăuți – have been practically lost. He noted he knows from reliable sources that the granite deposits at the quarry in Pervomaisc have been estimated to be enough for about 170 years.

The MP stated Moldova Sanatorium that is 17,641 square meters in area and occupies about 5 hectares, theoretically belongs to the Republic of Moldova. But it is not clear what central public authority of Moldova manages this facility. In the neighboring country, this sanatorium was put up for auction in the name of a bankrupt Ukrainian bank. The adjoining land is subject to a raider attack by persons close to Andronache (e.n. MP Vladimir Andronache). A number of companies are based on the sanatorium’s territory, but it is not clear who they pay rental to.

According to Alexandru Slusari, Moldova Sanatorium in Truscaveț also has an unclear legal status, while his mate Kiril Moțpan hasn’t yet received an answer over the management of this facility from the Public Property Agency. A series of health resorts situated on the Ukrainian seaside are in a deplorable state. The goal is to bring these to their knees and to privatize them at derisory prices. Other facilities have been put up for sale at very low prices.

“Evidently, neither the interim Government, nor the Public Property Agency has a strategy for managing the Moldovan property in Ukraine. Moreover it is clear that there is a criminal group protected at the upper level in Chisinau, which, amid the inaction of the responsible authorities, appropriate assets of hundreds of millions that were built by many generations and people from our country,” Alexandru Slusari stated, being quoted in a press release of the PPPDA.
