The Parliament’s spring session was closed on July 20 in accordance with the Parliament Decision adopted in the July 20 sitting. The decision to end the session was taken by the Standing Bureau and was voted by the Socialist and Democratic MPs and by independent MP Alexandru Oleinic, IPN reports.

O the last day of the spring session, the MPs debated the no confidence motion against the Government proposed by the MPs of the PPPDA. The motion wasn’t carried as it was short of votes.

The MPs have annual paid leave of 36 workdays based on a week with six workdays. The leave is usually provided during the Christmas vacation and the summer vacation.

The legislative body has two ordinary sessions a year. The spring session starts in February and cannot last longer than the end of July. The autumn session begins in September and lasts by the end of December.

Extraordinary sessions of Parliament can also be held, if need be.
