Sports schools, creative centers and youth centers in Chisinau present their offers at an event held on Saturday in “Alunelul Park”, with the title “Life beyond Lessons”. Parents and children participate in workshops, exhibitions and masterclasses, which give them the opportunity to discover a favorite extracurricular activity, IPN reports.
Attending the opening event, mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban said that there are almost 30 sports schools, creative and youth centers in the municipality. “We have a lot of activities for our children. We have extraordinarily talented children, both in education, where they take the leading places at international Olympiads – physics, biology, mathematics, chemistry - and in sports, in art. We offer these extracurricular activities, from music to sports, so that the children grow up healthy, trained and developed multilaterally,” stated the mayor.
Deputy mayor Angela Kutasevich said that every child must have the opportunity to develop their passions, preferences and talents. “In the 27 centers, we have about 20,000 enrolled children. This figure rises continuously. That’s why we organize these activities so that everyone, all the parents, all the children know about them. It is important for every child after school to go to sports or creative activities as these enable them to develop and grow harmoniously,” noted Angela Kutasevich.
The event is at its second edition. Parents and children can interact with coaches of sports schools and coordinators of artistic activities, who furnish them with details about the program, the benefits of activities and how to register for those activities. The event will last until 03.00 p.m.
