A sports complex built in accordance with the FIFA and UEFA standards was opened today, November 15, in Ciorescu village of Chisinau municipality. The complex can accommodate 1,400 supporters and includes all the necessary amenities, including for persons with disabilities. Besides competitions, training can be staged at the center throughout the year, IPN reports.
In the inaugural ceremony, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said that by such projects, we bring Europe to villages. “I hope that not only national, but also European competitions will be soon organized in Ciorescu. It is very important for “Futsal Arena FMF” not to become a place where only those privileged have access. It must become the second home for those fond of sport,” he stated.
The president of the Moldovan Football Federation Pavel Cebanu said that this is the only sports complex of Moldova outfitted with equipment for performing dope tests. The complex will host not only national tournaments, but also international futsal, basketball, volleyball and other kinds of sports competitions.
UEFA allocated €4 million for building the complex. This sum represents 70% of the total cost.
