“Sports Chisinau 2023” Festival inaugurated in “La Izvor” Park

The first edition of the “Sports Chisinau 2023” Festival was opened in the Park “La Izvor”. Chisinau is the capital of culture, reading, education, sport and arts. “We would like many people to come to this event so as to enliven the city,” said mayor general Ion Ceban, IPN reports.

According to the mayor, the Park “La Izvor” is a suitable place for playing football, basketball, volleyball, tennis and other types of sport. This location will be further developed and will become a real Olympic city. “I wish remarkable successes to everyone and wish each of you to achieve your goals and become champions,” said Ion Ceban, addressing the participants in the festival.

Andrei Pavaloi, deputy head of the General Education, Youth and Sports Division, said the event involves world, Olympic and European champions representing almost all types of sports practiced in Moldova. “The parents with their children can go to each of the trainers to see how nice each of these sports is and to choose what’s best for their children. I’m sure that future champions came to this park today. We are proud of you and will further support you,” he stated.

Between 12 noon and 6pm, the visitors can attend masterclasses presented by athletes from 18 schools and 77 sports federations. The visitors will be able to take part in sports events, to interact with valuable champions and to purchase national products at the local producers’ fair. The evening will end with a recital of music involving Ethno Republic and Cornelia Ștefăneț, Brio Sonores, Cătalin Josan and Show-balet Flash.

To enable the citizens to easier reach the venue, the itinerary of trolleybus route No. 5 was extended up to the station “Butoiaș” Restaurant. Trolleybuses No. 5 and 8 will run until 11:30pm and the units of transport on these routes will be increased if necessary. An additional bus route “Calea Ieșilor St (“La Izvor” Park) –Mitropolit Gavriil Bănulescu – Bodoni St” was opened to transport free participants in the event between 10pm and 11pm.
