The Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau on May 23 hosts a sports ‘carnival’ within the Olympic Festival that is staged by the National Olympic Committee the 24th time. The Committee’s chairman Nicolae Juravschi, who is a member of Parliament, has told IPN that about 15,000 people are expected to take part in the event.

The participants will be able to try different sports alongside the best athletes and coaches. There will be held a running race for mummies with kids. These will compete in running with baby carriages.

The traditional Olympic Race, which is the most expected event, will involve professional sportspersons and amateurs – young people, children, parents and grandparents, state officials and representatives of the mass media.

The sports festival ends with the Olympic Draw, where everyone can win prizes offered by the partners of the event, including bicycles, finesses equipment and a last-generation mobile phone.
