Sports and religious events on Chisinau streets

Movement along a number of streets in Chisinau on Saturday and Sunday
will be hindered by a number of planned events. The drivers are asked to
avoid parking by the roadside.
Aurelia Mija, PR Inspector of the Traffic Police Division, has told
Info-Prim Neo that the Bikers Association of Moldova stages the
international meeting of CIS and Europe motorcyclists “Basarabia 2011”
on June 11. The column of motorcyclists will set off at 11.30 and will
move along the following route: Vadul lui Voda – Budesti – Stauceni –
Metro1. At Metro1, the column will stop. It will resume movement at
12.30 along the streets Calea Orheiului – Studentilor – Moscovei – Kiev
– Renasterii – G.Vieru – Cosmonauţilor – Banulescu – Bodoni, up to the
Great National Assembly Square.
At 15.30, the column will go along a new route: the streets Stefan cel
Mare – Ciuflea – Dacia up to the Cities’ Gates, and back along Dacia –
Decebal – Gagarin – Negruzzi – Stefan cel Mare – Mihai Viteazu –
Petricani - Calea Orheiului streets and through Stauceni and Budesti
villages up to Vadul lui Voda town.
The same day, the Cycling Federation holds the eighth Moldovan
President’s Cycling Cup. The race will start at 17.00 at the
intersection of the streets Hristo Botev and Independentei. The column
will move along Dacia Blvd. up to the intersection of the streets Drumul
Crucii and Grenoble, and will then go back. There will be two cycling
races of 10 circuits each.
A religious event on the occasion of Great Sunday will be held on June
12. The faithful will stage a march along the following route: Saint
Nicolas Church, the streets Ceucari – Moscovei – Bogdan Voevod – T.
Vladimirescu – Putnei –V. Bodiu –Doina – Socoleni – Ceucari, starting at
12.00.
A cycling race will take place between 13.00 and 19.00. The itinerary
includes Maria Ciobotaru St, Stefan cel Mare Blvd. and Banulescu-Bodoni
St, and back along the streets Mihai Viteazu – Columna – Maria Cibotaru.
The police will direct the traffic. Sections of streets will be closed
for traffic.
