The statements made last week by the secretary general of the President’s Office Andrei Spînu, who is the deputy chairman of the ruling party, confirm the illegalities committed by particular high-ranking officers of the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS), said retired SIS colonel Alexei Serebreanschi, former foreign intelligence chief.
“For the first time, Mister Spînu stated that after Missis Maia Sandu was elected President of the Republic of Moldova, he insistently requested the President to immediately dismiss Esaulenco (Alexandru Esaulenco), who was promoted by Dodon (ex-President Igor Dodon) to the post of SIS director, and to also discharge Ojog (Vitalie Ojog) from the SIS. Moreover, Missis Spînu said that he does not understand how Esaulenco, who was involved in crimes, was named Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Azerbaijan and why Ojog continues to hold the post at the SIS, noting that it is a big mistune and a bad signal given to the system when such persons as Esaulenco are promoted and kept in posts,” Alexei Serebreanschi stated in a news conference hosted by IPN.
According to him, over the last three years, he has held six news conferences in which he presented evidence that was partially confirmed by Andrei Spînu, of the involvement of SIS high-ranking officers in especially serious crimes.
“Over these years, I presented to the public, including to the senior administration of the Republic of Moldova, evidence that Esaulenco, Gumeniuc, Racoviță, Cuzmin, Chumachenco, Pavlyuk and Ojog are involved in especially serious crimes, such as intimidation of politicians, public figures and foreign diplomats, incitement to interethnic hatred by denigrating national minorities, illegal management of anonymous Telegram channels – the so-called “SIS secret operations to influence the electronic environment” – denigration of Maia Sandu and the PAS party during the campaign prior to the presidential elections of 2020 and the parliamentary elections of 2021 and other serious crimes,” stated the retired SIS colonel.
“I also call on Mister Lilian Carp, head of the parliamentary commission on national security, defense and public order. Dear Mister Carp, I ask for a meeting with you to present to you all the proofs of which I have notified the public and of which the head of the President’s Office Andrei Spînu also warned. Don’t forget, Mister Carp, of the parliamentary control of which you assured society in the new draft law on the SIS. You see what disastrous situation was reached at the SIS after Esaulenco because all our previous warnings have been ignored,” said Alexei Serebreanschi.
