A driver aged 27 died, while a 26-year-old passenger suffered injuries in a road accident that happened in Cioburciu village of Stefan Voda district on January 1. The driver was speeding and lost control of the car, crashing it into a reinforced concrete fence, IPN reports.
Press officer of the National Patrolling Inspectorate Sabina Cojusnean said the passenger was taken to the Stefan Voda district hospital. His state is stable. It’s not yet known if the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
According to the National Emergency Medicine Center of Chisinau, a woman aged 67 died on the way to the hospital on the evening of January 1. She was struck by a car when she was jaywalking near “Flacara” Movie Theater in Buiucani district of Chisinau. The women, who lived on Liviu Deleanu St, went into a coma and never regained consciousness.
The same evening, a man aged 24 was hit by a car on Constructorilor St. The driver didn’t stop to help. The victim underwent surgery.
