The speed limit on some street sections in the municipality of Chisinau was increased to 70 km/h in a move to fluidize traffic, especially on the road portions that meet the road safety norms and the technical parameters, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the National Patrolling Inspectorate, the decision to raise the speed limit on five street sections was taken following a study carried out in concert with road administrators.
The speed limit was increased on: the section of Dacia Blvd. between Metro 2 and Bacioii Noi St, on Hancesti St, between Spicului St and the exit of Chisinau, the national road M2, Chisinau – Soroca at the border with Ukraine, on Dacia Blvd. between the Chisinau airport and the exit of Chisinau, and on Calea Basarabiei St, between the streets Haltei and Lunca Bacului.
The given road sections were additionally checked by specialists of the local public administration and inspectors so as to systematize traffic. There will be set up all the necessary road signs.
