Speed limit barriers set up at intersections where road accidents happen frequently

Two speed limit barriers were placed at the intersection of Mihai Eminescu St and 31 August St, under a decision taken by the Chisinau administration. Similar barriers will soon appear at other several intersections where road accidents occur frequently, Info-Prim Neo reports. Antonina Tapla, press officer of the Traffic Police Division, said the speed limit barriers will make the drivers reduce speed and will thus prevent accidents caused by speeding. The money for the purpose is allocated by the Chisinau City Hall. According to the Traffic Police Division, 15 traffic accidents happened at the intersection of the streets Mihai Eminescu and 31 August this year so far. Six persons were hurt in them.
