“Eugene Ionesco” Theater invites to The Story of a Man that Fell on Street directed by Petru Vutcarau on May 19. The play written by the Japanese dramatist Fujita Den opens an unknown Japan to the occasional tourists. It is a play about the real problems faced by the Japanese society: poverty, abandoned old people, the crushing fate of women. It is a meeting of two theaters - “Eugen Ionesco” and “Hachimaru” from Tokyo. The play is in Japanese and will be subtitled in Romanian. It is the last performance in the “Ginta Latina” building by the troupe of “Eugene Ionesco” Theater. The performance starts at 19.00. During May 18 and 24, the Theater “Satiricus Ion Luca Caragiale” will put on two productions: “A Stormy Night” by Ion Luca Caragiale (May 23, 18.00) and Irina Nechit’s play “Monkey in the Bathroom” (May 24, 18.00). Both of the plays were directed by Sandu Grecu. From May 19, “Mihai Eminescu” Theater will show the play “Harap Alb” by Ion Creanga, directed by Vitalie Drucec. The performances will take place in the first half of the day, at different hours. The play “Chain-Fairytale” will be premiered at the National Puppet Theater “Licurici” on May 20, starting at 11.00. On May 21 and 24, there will be show the plays “Wind – Clever Chap” starting at 11.00, while on May 23 – the play “Pig Chok”, starting also at 11.00.
