The pro-European majority coalition in the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) in the evening of September 3 approved the numerical and nominal composition of the specialized commissions, IPN reports.
There will be five specialized commissions in the CMC: the legal commission on public order and the activity of the local public administration; the commission on budget, economy, finance, local public patrimony, agriculture and the problems of the suburban settlements; the commission on public amenities, energy, technical services, transport, communications, and ecology; the commission on constructions, architecture, and land relations, and the commission on social protection, health protection, education, culture, the mass media and interethnic relations.
The legal commission will have nine members – four on behalf of the Liberal Party (PL), three on behalf of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) and by one on behalf of the European People’s Party of Moldova (PPEM) and Our Party (PPPN).
The commission on budget will have 11 members. Four of these will represent the PSRM, four the PL, and by one the Party of Communists (PCRM), the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), and the PPEM.
The commission on public amenities will consists of six councilors of the PSRM, one councilor of the PL, one councilor of the PPEM and one councilor of the PPPN.
The commission on constructions will have 11 members who will represent the PL (four), the PSRM (three) and the PCRM, PDM, PLDM and PPEM (by one).
The commission on social protection will also have 11 members. These will represent the PL (four), the PSRM (three), the PPEM (two), and the PCRM and PPPN (by one).
The composition of the commissions was approved by a unanimous vote even if the Socialist councilors initially asked postponing the meeting until September 4.
