Three representatives of the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport of Romania will come to Chisinau to consider the possibility of Romania recognizing the diplomas of the Moldovan graduates and vice versa, Moldova's Minister of Education Leonid Bujor said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
”Many graduates of Romanian universities work in Moldova on the basis of their diplomas. They hold very important positions and are very skilful,” Leonid Bujor said while in Bucharest on a visit, mentioning Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Minister of Justice Alexandru Tanase, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca and others.
“The Moldova Noastra Alliance includes three graduates of Romanian education institutions, who hold important posts in the local and central public administration. Also, many graduates of Moldova universities work in Romania as doctors, professors, economists, engineers. So, I think this problem can be easily solved at official level,” Leonid Bujor said.
The Moldovan official stressed that he and his Romanian counterpart decided to examine the possibility of reciprocally validating the diplomas of the Moldovan and Romanian graduates. But not all the diplomas will be recognized. “There are a number of eduction establishments in Moldova and Romania that have discredited themselves over time. So, every university will be examined separately,” Bujor said.
A Cooperation Protocol for 2010-2011 between the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport and the Moldovan Ministry of Education was signed in Bucharest on April 27. Under the agreement, the number of scholarships provided by the Government of Romania for Moldovan students was increased from 2,100 to 5,000. 1,150 Moldovan high school graduates will be able to rest in Romanian summer camps. The parties also agreed to open a branch of the University of Galati ”Dunarea de Jos” in Cahul and a branch of the University of Iasi ”Alexandru Ioan Cuza” in Balti.
