The special truck that hung on the bridge on Ismail St in the capital city was towed away. Employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations intervened with heavy vehicles, including a crane, IPN reports.
According to the Inspectorate, five teams of rescuers took steps to stabilize the vehicle and prevented the risk of falling. The fire brigade teams took fire safety measures as there were fuel leaks at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the truck got out of the cab on his own. The man was taken over by doctors for medical care. The cause and circumstances of the road accident are to be established by the competent authorities.
The Chisinau City Hall informed that the truck, weighing 10 tonnes, was empty when the incident occurred. “Preliminarily, according to the driver of the special truck, another vehicle cut him off. The crew of the truck, consisting of two people, was out of danger and other people were not hurtled,” reads a press statement.
The bridge on Ismail St was reopened to vehicle traffic.
