The Security and Information Service (SIS) has transferred another 3,700 files on persons subjected to political repression during the totalitarian Communist regime to the National Archive on Thursday, November 25, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to SIS vice director Valentin Dediu, the transferred files cover the period between 1920 and 1959 and concern mainly persons tried at the NKVD's Military Tribunal of the Moldovan Soviet Socialist Republic. They include persons convicted of promoting anti-Soviet propaganda, betrayal of the state, espionage, terrorist acts against representatives of the Soviet power, acts against the working class, and revolutionary movements. Among them are such famous writers as Nicolai Costenco, Vadim Pirogan, Nicolai Crupenschi, who had been political prisoners.
On November 9, the SIS transmitted 5,000 files to the National Archive. The same volume will be transferred next February.
