The OSCE Special Representative for the Transnistrian Settlement Process, Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting, in his capacity as the Special Representative of the Swedish OSCE Chairpersonship, will pay a working visit to the Republic of Moldova during January 26-28. The subject of the visit was discussed in a meeting of Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Olga Cebotari and the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch, IPN reports.
In the meeting, the two officials exchanged opinions about the current priorities in the Transnistrian settlement process and for the efficient implementation of the country reunification polices. To identify viable solutions to the most pressing problems faced by the residents from both sides of the Nistru, they underscored the intention and necessity of stepping up interaction between experts from Chisinau and Tiraspol and in other sectors of responsibility.
The two officials also discussed the working meeting of the key negotiators of Chisinau and Tiraspol to the Transnistrian Settlement Process of January 20 this year and its contribution to stimulating the fulfillment of the commitments of the so-called Berlin Plus package.
