The National Extraordinary Commission for Public Health recommended the local public authorities of Chisinau and Bălți to adopt a special work program for public transport, as it was during the state of emergency, when it ran for several hours in the morning and several hours in the evening, Premier Ion Chicu stated in the Cabinet meeting convened in the evening of June 12, IPN reports.
“We had a limited number of unites of public transport in February and March. In June, we do not have more trolleybuses and buses. The people crowded in February and March and continue to crowd now. We should not yet be angry with the people for this as we should buy more buses and trolleybuses and avoid crowdedness,” stated Ion Chiucu.
Earlier, the National Extraordinary Commission for Public Health decided that the public transport in Chisinau and Bălți will not run on the weekend until the end of June.
