A special EU mission arrived in Chisinau to identify the potential sectors that would receive additional funding from the EU. In 2012, the value of additional allotments is €28 million, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The topic was discussed at the meeting of the Inter-Ministry Committee for Strategic Planning (CIPS). According to a press release of the Government, the mission’s goal is to supplement the financial allotments for sectorial programs of budgetary support that collaborate with the EU: healthcare, rural economic development, justice, etc.
The Committee also discussed the Japanese Government’s assistance program for 2013. The total aid provided by Japan for Moldova since the establishment of diplomatic relations is $73 million in grants and $48.2 million in loans. This month, a Japanese mission is expected in Chisinau to discuss new opportunities of assistance for Moldova.
Prime Minister Vlad Filat declared that what was needed at this stage was an analysis of the investment’s impact, especially regarding private-public partnership projects in spheres like energy efficiency, infrastructure and sewerage.
At the beginning of September, the Inter-ministry Committee for Strategic Planning will examine the current situation in agriculture, affected by this year’s bad weather, and to determine the necessary recovery measures.
