The Special Destination Police Brigade “Fulger” celebrates 26 years of the foundation on December 5. The Brigade’s police officers were praised for their devotion to the country and for the risk assumed daily in the undertaken missions. Congratulatory messages were transmitted by Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Minister of the Interior Alexandru Jizdan. Also today, a number of employees of the Brigade were awarded, IPN reports.
Pavel Filip said the Special Destination Police Brigade “Fulger” has always guarded the independence of the Moldovan state. “Fulger” was the first shield of the citizens in defending the fundamental values, the rule of law, life, democracy and human rights. The Premier also rendered homage to the veterans and the heroes killed in the Nistru armed conflict. “We should never forget these acts of heroism that should be eternal examples of education of patriotism and devotion to what this land represents. The risky missions in which you are involved daily are challenges for you, but these risks are an example for those who want to work at this unit,” stated Pavel Filip.
For his part, Alexandru Jizdan said that during 26 years the Police Brigade “Fulger” has defended the homeland and the people of the Republic of Moldova. “Behind the masks, there are ordinary people of Moldova. You deserve all respect for what you do daily,” stated the minister, adding that during a year they managed to contribute to improving the Brigade’s work capacity. He thanked the representatives of the embassies who attended the event for contributing to developing the unit.
The best police officers of “Fulger” were awarded the Merit Cross of the first and second classes and received diplomas from the Government.
The public enjoyed fighting demonstrations, simulations of arrests and shooting exercises.
The Special Destination Police Brigade “Fulger” was constituted on December 5, 1991.
