Head of Parliament Igor Corman is paying a working visit to Brussels on June 17-19. This is his first official visit as Speaker outside the country, IPN has learned from the legislative body’s press service.
Igor Corman will have meetings with the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz, Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Štefan Füle, chairman of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs Elmar Brok, leader of the Socialists and Democrats Group in the European Parliament Hannes Swoboda and with other officials.
The discussions will center on Moldova’s European integration agenda, the priorities in modernizing the country and the functioning of the democratic institutions of the state. The meetings will be followed by two joint news conferences, held by Igor Corman together with Martin Schulz and with Hannes Swoboda.
In the same period, Brussels will host the meeting of the EU – Moldova Parliamentary Cooperation Committee that is monitoring the implementation of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Moldova and the European Union.
