Moldova needs a clearer sign from the EU member countries, including Germany, as regards the European integration, Speaker Marian Lupu said during a meeting with Rainder Steenblock, German MP and member of the European Affairs Committee. According to the Parliament’s press unit, Lupu has asked Germany for support in negotiating a new legal framework with the European Union, following the expiry of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, which would encourage the Moldovan society. Moldova is part of the European neighbourhood policy and Germany is interested in the further development of democracy in our country, in the promotion of economic reforms and in the settlement of the Transnistrian dispute, Rainder Steenblock said. The deepening of Moldovan-German relations is part of the cooperation with other countries in the region, including Ukraine, Bulgaria and Romania, the German MP added. Moldova hopes to acquire by the end of the year the Autonomous Trade Preferences and to sign visa facilitation and readmission agreements with the EU, Lupu said.
