Speaker Candu on visit to U.S.

Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu is paying a visit to the United States during April 11-19, 2018. He will give a speech on road traffic safety in the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly. The Moldovan politician will speak about the measures taken to reduce the number of road traffic victims, IPN reports.

According to the Parliament’s press service, Andrian Candu will take part in the Global Parliamentary Conference, which is the Parliamentary Network’s flagship event co-organized with the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund. In the meeting in New York, MPs from all the continents will agree the plan of action for 2018.

The Speaker will also meet with UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed and Moldova’s Honorific Council in New York Mark Meyer. In Washington, Andrian Candu will have meetings at the United States Congress, the Offices of USAID, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank and at the U.S. Department of State and the Ministry of Finance.
